At Gavins Point Recreational Center in Yankton, South Dakota, we are more than just your go-to destination for new and used RVs; we are a proud member of our community. As such, we are thrilled to host a blood drive in partnership with LifeServe Blood Center on Monday, August 5, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This event will be held at our center, located at 3311 Debra Blvd, and we invite you to come out and help us make a difference.
Make S’more Memories!
Summer is the perfect time for creating unforgettable memories, and what better way to make a lasting impact than by donating blood? Our theme for this event is “Make S’more Memories!” – a playful nod to the delicious campfire treat that symbolizes community, sharing, and joy. Just like a perfect s’more, every blood donation brings people together and makes our community stronger.
Why Donate Blood?
Did you know that only 3% of the population donates blood each year? Out of those who donate, they do so an average of 1.8 times. Your single donation can save up to three lives, making it an incredibly powerful way to give back. Blood donations are essential for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. By donating, you are helping to ensure that lifesaving blood is available for those who need it most.

How to Prepare for Your Donation:
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before your appointment.
- Eat a Healthy Meal: Have a nutritious meal before donating to keep your blood sugar levels stable.
- Bring ID: A photo ID is required for registration.
- Wear Comfortable Clothing: Wear a short-sleeve shirt or something with sleeves that can be easily rolled up.
