RV RENTAL POLICY
Security Deposit
Travel Trailer reservations require a refundable security deposit of $500.
Motorhome reservations require a refundable security deposit of $1000.
Security deposit will be forfeited in the event of cancellation. No exceptions will be made.
Security deposit will be forfeited in whole or in part for loss of equipment, interior or exterior damage, interior and exterior cleaning, additional mileage, refueling of gasoline, sales tax due, odor, or any other extraordinary wear on the unit.
Units must be returned in the same condition as they were provided at the start of the rental in order to receive your full security deposit back.
Minimum Rental
Motorhome rentals have a 5-Night minimum rental and Travel Trailers require a 4-Night minimum rental.
Rental Requirements
All renters mush hold a valid drivers license and be a minimum of 25 years of age. Only the named renter is allowed to drive or tow the rental unit. Any additional driver must be named on the rental agreement, and have provided copy of valid driver’s license to Gavins Point Recreational Center. Anyone not named on the rental agreement is not allowed to drive nor tow the rental unit.
Forms of payment accepted are Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Cash. Check will not be accepted.
The total of the rental fees, taxes, and any extras are required prior to the rental of the unit. Payment in full is required up front. If payment in full is not provided prior to your rental, the rental will be cancelled and your security deposit will be forfeited. No exceptions.
Rental must be picked up during Regular Business Hours if Rental is not scheduled to be delivered to campsite by Gavins Point Recreational Center. No exceptions will be made.
Return time is 11:00 am. Late returns are subject to a $250.00 late charge plus daily rental fee.
No Sunday pickups nor Sunday returns. We are closed on Sundays.
Travel trailers must be equipped with an electric brake control and a 2 5/16” ball. Please make sure brake control and trailer light wiring is in working condition BEFORE you arrive to pick up your rental. We will not have a technician available to assist with brake control or vehicle electrical issues.
Motorhomes require a standard driver’s license to operate. You must provide proof of valid insurance coverage immediately prior to your planned trip. Please provide confirmation from your insurance agent. We strongly suggest having a comprehensive Travel & Roadside Assistance policy in place.
Renters are responsible for all park permits and campsite reservations.
Renters are also responsible for any parking and/or traffic violation fees.
If towing, renters must know the towing capacity of their vehicle. The vehicle must have the capability as determined by the manufacturer to tow the weight of the rental unit.
Septic-safe toilet paper is required to be used in all of our RV rentals. Failure to use septic-safe toilet paper will result in applicable damage fees.
Accidents, Damage, and Corresponding Fees
We provide the collision and comprehensive insurance coverage on the rental units. However, if damages occur you will be responsible for $500 or our deductible, whichever is greater. Putting a rider on your
own insurance is fairly inexpensive. We would encourage you to do so.
We do not provide liability coverage on the vehicle nor rental unit. You must provide liability insurance coverage on the towed vehicle through the personal auto policy covering the towed vehicle.
No smoking is allowed in our rental units. NO EXCEPTIONS. If unit is smoked in your security deposit will be forfeited and you will be subject to charges for professional cleaning and fumigating fees.
Pets are not allowed in our rental units. Any evidence of pets and/or pet damage, odor, or stains will result in forfeiture of your security deposit and you will be subject to charges for professional cleaning and fumigating fees.
Rental Rates
Mileage: On motorized units, we include 100 miles per day. Any mileage above 100 miles per day rented, is subject to a charge of $0.35 per mile. We will estimate your mileage by your destination and charge accordingly at pickup. When unit is returned we will calculate actual mileage used and debit/credit accordingly.
Gasoline/Diesel tanks are filled when unit is picked up and must be
returned full or will be charged for fuel at a charge of $12.99 per gallon.
All rental fees are subject to South Dakota’s state and local taxes.
Rental Unit Cleaning
All belongings, food, and trash must be removed from the rental unit prior to your departure. Failure to remove all belongings, food, and trash will result in additional cleaning charges and possible forfeiture of security deposit. All cabinets and unit compartments (including external compartments) are to be returned free of all belongings, food, trash, and/or debris.
Each unit is equipped with a portable vacuum. Please vacuum the unit and wipe down all countertops and cabinets prior to return of the rental.
If there is a need for additional cleaning, you will be charged a cleaning fee. If there are stains in the carpet, you will be charged a carpet cleaning fee. You will also be charged a cleaning fee if the exterior of the rental unit is excessively dirty.
If you have not elected campsite delivery and pickup, you are responsible for filling fresh water tank and emptying all tanks prior to return. Failure to empty tanks will result in forfeiture of security deposit.
